P.E.A.C.E. (People Engaged in Active Community Efforts) is a justice ministry organization made up of 19 different congregations throughout Palm Beach County. Recognizing that to do justice requires power, these congregations work to bring together large numbers of people who hold political and economic systems accountable for serious community problems. St. Andrew’s parish is committed to this form of social justice, and congregants are encouraged to support this important ministry with their time, energy and treasure. PEACE is a vehicle for congregations to do justice through the power of large numbers of organized people. We listen to the concerns of everyday people, research solutions that have proven to work, and demonstrate broad public support, while submitting well-researched proposals to our county officials. For Palm Beach County, this means practical improvements to the quality of life for all at system-wide levels. For people of faith, this means we can fulfill our requirement to do justice as laid before us in Micah 6:8 and Matthew 23:23.
St. Andrew’s is proudly affiliated with the Lake Worth Interfaith Network, a local group of individuals and faith-based communities dedicated to promoting acceptance and understanding among our diverse spiritual traditions through prayer gatherings, education and compassionate action.
The network began in 2005, when a group of individuals with a deep desire to actively engage in religious reconciliation met and agreed to form a loosely structured network of like-minded people within the town of Lake Worth. By the National Day of Prayer observance in May of that year, Lake Worth Interfaith Network held its first community event, and that inspired dream became an actualized reality. The network has since sponsored three prayer events a year and continues to include the National Day of Prayer, Thanksgiving and Martin Luther King Jr. on their calendar of celebrations. Previous interfaith events have included Passover Seder, Ramadan Dinner, World AIDS Day, Maya New Year Fire Circles, Kol Nidre and Summer Solstice Sacred Drum Circles. All are welcome.

Every day, people suffer from hunger in Palm Beach County. St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church provides support to Christians Reach Out to Society, Inc., or C.R.O.S. Ministries. This Christian volunteer-based organization serves the hungry in Palm Beach and Martin Counties through community collaborations. They recover fresh produce through gleaning, provide children with safe camps during the summer months, offer emergency and short-term food assistance and run a hot meal program seven days a week.
C.R.O.S. Ministries believes that to be successful in addressing hunger, the community must come together. For 40 years, CROS has brought people of different faiths, civic groups, and members of the community to work together effectively towards the common goal of ending hunger in Palm Beach County.
